Dear Supporters,

Thank you for giving me the honor of being your Democratic nominee to the 57th Assembly District.

The last 18 months have been an amazing roller coaster ride filled with excitement, energy, and the type of non-stop, around-the-clock work that makes campaigns so unique and rewarding.  And in the end, because of your work, we won with 65 percent of the electorate supporting our message about the direction California needs to move in during the weeks, months, and years ahead.

While I know the real work still lays before us in Sacramento, I’m nonetheless proud of these important first steps we’ve taken together here at home to achieve change in California.

A simple "thank you" doesn't begin to adequately convey what is in my heart as I think about all the people who helped make this happen. I want to give my deepest appreciation to Congresswoman Judy Chu and Assemblymember Ed Hernandez for their unwavering support; all of my colleagues across the San Gabriel Valley who endorsed me; to the firefighters, teachers, nurses, police officers, unions, working families and other organizations across the state who had enough faith in me to believe I am the best candidate to represent them.

Most of all, though, I want to thank my team and my volunteers; you made the difference. Every night, many volunteers came in after work or after school to get on the phone and contact voters. Every weekend they were out walking in the hot sun knocking on doors. Sometimes voters weren't too nice to them, but they never let that get them down.  I was out there with you knocking on doors and getting on the phone because I believe - and always have - that no one should work harder than the candidate. But I'll tell you one thing: you sure gave me a run for my money.

I'm proud of the campaign we ran. We took the high road all the way through and didn't resort to petty politics. We had a message, and that message was heard loud and clear: we want leadership that will focus on job creation, on innovation, and on education.

I am deeply humbled and grateful for all the support this campaign had garnered. The people came out and overwhelmingly made it known that they want a representative in Sacramento who keeps their interests in mind. I wouldn't have gotten that support if it hadn't been for all of you.

Thank you.

I look forward to working with each and every one of you as we seek to build a more prosperous California.
